5 Lost Inventions by Nikola Tesla That Could Have Changed the World

Tesla is undoubtedly a special personality where invention is concerned. Till date, Nikola Tesla had won up to 300 patents to his name worldwide. Some have even gone to the extent of calling him a “mad-scientist” because of his many inventions and discoveries.  Despite the huge number of patents he has to his name, there are still many other of his inventions that were never put into patent protection.  It must also be noted that Tesla had made lots of money through his patents. The money he had earned from these inventions and their patent protections are being spent on his scientific projects.

Aside from the many successful projects Tesla has to his name, he is still working on several other projects and many of them are already showing signs of desired success.  One of the most prominent of his inventions is the AC electric system and this can power virtually everything that is being used today.  He is involved with a host of projects that have changed the world and he is still in the process of making more inventions towards transforming the way things are done in the world.

Tesla has the Free Electricity System to his credit. He started this invention with the understanding that the world will require new source of power in h future considering increasing need and increasing world population.  The invention works towards harnessing earth energy to provide the needed power supply. He had worked using several machines and tools to develop this innovation.

Another of his inventions is the Death Ray.  He developed this from the Van de Graff generator.  Purpose of this weapon was to fight against ground-based infantry and it can also serve anti-aircraft purposes.  According to Tesla, “the nozzle would send concentrated beams of particles through the free air, of such tremendous energy that they will bring down a fleet of 10,000 enemy airplanes at a distance of 200 miles from the defending nation’s border…”

Another invention from Tesla is the Tesla’s Oscillator, which is more or less an earthquake machine.  The original intention of the oscillator was to be used as steam-powered electric generator.

Tesla essentially had the idea for the solar powered drones that we have today. His vision was a bit bigger though. He envisioned airships that would take passengers from New York to London in three hours, drawing power from the atmosphere, never needing to refuel.
