Man Supplies Thirsty Wild Animals with Water in Kenya

While many humans are only concerned about their personal contentment and nothing more, a Kenyan man, Patrick Kilonzo Mwalua has taken things to the next level by putting into consideration the happiness and contentment of wild animals in Kenya. While others only see animals as food, he sees them as part of the Creator’s wonderful works that need to be protected and cared for.

To prove his love and concern for these wild beasts, Patrick would drive his truck around the Kenyan drylands to supply these wild animals with water. In times past, Kenya had a good supply of rainfall. However, the supply has decreased in recent times, causing a widespread drought, which has the potential of endangering the lives of wild beasts across Kenya.

Patrick said he noticed that reduction in rainfall would negatively affect the animals since they have no other way to get water if nature or humans do not help them. He felt the animals need human now at this critical point and he decided to make himself available as that helpful pair of hands that can prevent the animals from dying due to unquenched thirst.

In his words: “We aren’t receiving rain the way we used to. So, I started giving animals water because I thought, ‘if I don’t do that, they will die.'”

Patrick is popularly called the Water Man. He is a farmer, who plants pea in his local village. His farming engagement does not prevent him from sparing time to tend to the needs of the animals.  Every day, he would spend several hours driving across the dry lands to supply the wild animals living there with water. He would drive a truck laden with 3,000 liters of water across the dry land of Kenya and fill the various watering holes across the dry land with water for the animal to drink.

On several occasions, the animals would be waiting for him at the watering holes, and they would drink with excitement after he has filled the watering holes with water.
